An Interview With Dr. Jacobs, A Qualified Plastic Surgeon In Anchorage

1. What are Arnica montana or bromelain?

They are homeopathic remedies that reduce bruising and swelling after surgery or trauma.

2. Will I have stitches? Is there swelling and bruising?

There are no stitches that will be visible. There is a small amount of swelling that should resolve quickly and there usually is no bruising with a breast lift.

3. When will my stitches be removed after my breast lift procedure?

All the stitches are inside and will dissolve on their own.

4. Can I finance my breast lift?

Yes. You can finance your breast lift just like any other surgery.

5. What will happen if I have another child or gain or lose weight?

If you become pregnant or gain weight, your breasts will enlarge.  After the pregnancy or weight loss, your breasts may decrease in size and sag to varying degrees.  This can usually be addressed with additional surgery.

6. Will I be able to breast feed after a mastopexy?

You probably can breast feed after a mastopexy, or breast lift, since very few of the milk ducts will be interrupted.

7. Can a breast lift cause breast cancer?

No. A breast lift cannot cause breast cancer.
