1. What are Arnica Montana or bromelain?
These are naturally occurring substances which are known to have some anti-inflammatory effects. The use of them around the time of surgery may reduce bruising and inflammation. However, high level scientific studies are not available to prove their efficiency and safety.
2. Will I have stitches? Is there swelling and bruising?
There will be swelling and bruising which is in direct proportion of the extent of the surgery. Generally, the sutures are within the skin and dissolvable.
3. When will my stitches be removed after my breast lift procedure?
The majority of the stitches are dissolvable. If permanent sutures are used, they are removed between 7-10 days.
4. Can I finance my breast lift?
There may be financing companies providing you with loans for cosmetic surgery.
5. What will happen if I have another child or gain or lose weight?
Pregnancies and weight fluctuations may lead to drooping of the breast, however, to a lesser degree than before breast lift.
6. Will I be able to breast feed after a mastopexy?
It depends on the type of procedure you had. Generally, there is no guaranty that you could breast feed after a breast lift procedure. Nursing is a very complex process which can be negatively affected by surgery on the breast.
7. Can a breast lift cause breast cancer?
There are no data suggesting that surgery on the breast can cause cancer or increase the risk of breast cancer in future.
