1. What is Breast Lifting?
A breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises and firms the breast resulting in a more youthful contour.
2. Are there risks and complications to a breast lift surgery?
There are always risks associated with any surgery including complications such as reaction to anesthesia or infection. As long as you are in good health and precautions are taken by the surgical team, complication should be minimal. You will however have lasting scars that should fade in time.
3. How long do the results last?
Unless you gain or lose weight or become pregnant, your results should remain fairly constant. However, gravity and aging are inevitable so your breast will eventually change size and shape. You can choose to undergo a second surgery to regain that youthful appearance once again.
4. How much does breast lift surgery cost?
Cost will vary from surgeon to surgeon and location to location. Expect to pay anywhere from $3,000-$8,000 depending on the type of lift, anesthesia, time in OR, etc.
5. What are some of the most common benefits of breast lift surgery?
Your breast will appear firmer and more uplifted. The position of your nipples and areolas will be enhanced and the size of your areolas will be aesthetically pleasing.
6. How much pain is there?
There will be some pain, but it should not be severe. It can be treated with a prescription from your doctor.
7. What can I expect after breast lift surgery?
Since skin is removed and tissue is repositioned, your breasts will be swollen, bruised, and sore afterwards but should subside within a few weeks. Pain should be minimal. You will have to wear bandages or a surgical bra for a few days afterwards. If you have stitches, they are normally removed within a few days post op. Heavy lifting is restricted, but you can return to work within a week and normal activity within 4-6 weeks. You may also have temporary loss of nipple sensation which should return as your breasts heal. Again, you will have lasting scars that should minimize over time.
